Dean & DeLuca
Reviews

Foodie heaven. Tons of great specialty foods and drinks. It's the perfect place to stop for picnic supplies on a wine tasting trip in Napa.

A foodie's must visit when in the Napa area. Perfect for picking up a variety of goodies for a picnic or road trip, or even to take home to cook at home. I admire the wide variety of cooking salts available, especially the huge Himalayan salt block - perfect for medium rare Wagyu steak. I also hard to find teas here that I enjoyed in the UK but have not found elsewhere in the bay area. For the child in us, there is a wide selection of candies and animal shaped cookies from our yesteryears. For our loved ones, bouquets in the refrigerated section.

We (did) come here quite a bit since we live in Napa, but every time I am surprised by the poor customer service. The workers are usually quite slow and often leave areas unattended such as the main checkout and the chocolate/candy area. I have always had to wait for some time before a worker will come to ring us up and when I seek out to ask an employee to help they typically need to "find someone" to do it. There is a grumpy employee, Gia, that unfortunately works there more than she should. It's unfortunate because shopping at Dean and DeLuca is more about the experience than actually needing any of their over-priced foods. The east coast D & D's are much much better run. Too bad that the Napa Valley Dean and DeLuca is an unfortunate representation for their franchise.

What a terrible experience. I bought a $49 Paradigm wine at this store, and after a 20 minutes drive back to the hotel it leaked. But the problem was actually that the Dean & Deluca store in Napa valley refused to refund the value I paid. I think there's a problem with this wine series, and even though the store manager replaced it I wanted a refund. There's a refund policy that was not followed. A very expensive store, horrible customer service and unprepared staff. Stay away from it.

Service is never the best at any DandD (which I don't get?) but the selection is always top drawer. Love the cupcakes - ooops my sweet tooth is showing again...
