Blue Prynt Restaurant
Reviews
I thought I'd take a chance with a 'hot date' and try the Blue Prynt... Wow!!! Better than I was expecting! We started with two extraordinary salads... amazing dressings. She... a most lovely and sophisticated creature, had the swordfish with polenta and asparagus. I had the half chicken/half artichoke with chips. The swordfish was as tender and moist as could be. (She allow me a taste.) Knocked my sock socks off!!! The chicken was flavorful and tender as could be! Chicken?!! The spices are secret, of course, but the flavor was perfect. I've never had better. We splurged (calorie wise) and split (one dessert, two spoons) the Baked Alaska... superb... Hummm... An excellent dinner! Two glasses of wine, two salads, two main courses and dessert.. $65 Three thumbs up! Con: The Booth seats are so soft and deep I nearly bashed my chin on the table top... ask for a table and chair.... unless you're in six foot six plus category...
My friend and I wanted to try something new yesterday evening so I made a reservation in advance for a booth inside or table outside. Upon arrival, and seeing no hostess station, I asked the bartender where I should sit. By his annoyed expression, I could tell he would have preferred I didn't bother him but rather reluctantly and rudely showed me outside (no table reserved there) and then brought me back inside where I was told to seat myself. Service was fairly slow although there were only two busy tables inside. Our server was nice at times but when I asked for 1000 island dressing for my salad he said I should have mixed up the dressing I was given better. After offering us cracked pepper for my salad and my friend's chowder (which we gladly accepted), he then left and never came back. We waited patiently to start our meals, only to see him wander about the restaurant, obviously forgetting about us. At that point, we had had enough. I went to the bar to pay for the meal. No one asked why we were leaving with food untouched or asked if there was anything to do to make it right. The server walked by, saw we were leaving and said "great." The highlight of the evening was hearing one of the wait staff yell, "good riddance!" as we left. Classy! We finished up our evening at Ella's and had a great time.
This restaurant is a hidden treasure in downtown Sacramento. The food was delicious and at a resonable price. The bar is stocked with everything. The staff and service was top notch. I will be frequenting this establishment more often in the future.
