DAOU Vineyards & Winery
Reviews
Great wines but TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! We are Wine Club members and this was the 3rd time we have visited this winery. The 1st time we went we had better service before we joined the wine club than we've had for our 2nd or 3rd visit. After being seated, we couldn't get anyone to serve us, then finally someone came and served us but disappeared before finishing our tastes. She went out to the front to serve people at the standing bar and never came back. We asked someone else to finish servicing us and you could tell she wasn't happy about doing that but she finally did. Then no one came back to take our order for our shipment of wine. We will be back there again during Thanksgiving time and if the service isn't any better we will be cancelling our wine club membership.
Their wines are amazing, personally my favorite. The winery is stunning with great views. All of the reds are very good, try them all but do not miss their Chardonnay. It is delicious, especially during hot summer days. If you can sign up for the wine club, you should and if you can get their super private reserve wine, you need to try it. It is very complex but very smooth.
A Paso gem. The tasting room decor is 'rustic elegance' but the beauty is the view from the winery and the Adirondack chairs outside. The atmosphere is enhanced by fantastic reds. Daou Vineyards is on our 'must stop' list for every trip back to Paso.
A bit of a hike up a hill and away from central Paso Robles. But the views are amazing. Daou Vineyards is definitely worth a visit! There are nice indoor and outdoor tasting areas. I think the outdoor area is reserved. They also have a private club room with pours that are not in the regular tasting. Tasting fee is $10, but waived with a bottle purchase. The wine here is definitely a notch above the rest that I've tasted in Paso.
Beautiful setting, wonderful service, exceptional people. Makes the trip very worthwhile. And, did I mention the product? Wonderul!
