Overall, I had an excellent experience. A few days before my reservation, on a Friday, I received a call stating that my table had been moved from outside to inside, although I had specifically asked for outside. When I arrived, there appeared to be a large wedding occurring, and it was difficult to avoid all the people to ensure you didn't get in the way of any presenters. The minute I walked in, the restaurant smelled like fish, a sign that they have a weak ventilation system. However, after a few minutes I was able to ignore it, and I forgot about it from there. We had a very nice server who suggested great things to eat. For a drink, I had the lemonade which was a little too sour for my taste. For my appetizer, I shared the fries (in duck fat), little gem caesar, and fried goat cheese. The fries were amazing, but the caesar could have been richer in taste. However, the fried goat cheese was amazing with lentils on the side. For my main, I had the wood oven pizza, which they change the ingredients used every day. That was perfect. Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant and would be glad to return.
We found the Workshop Kitchen listed in the Palm Springs Life Magazine. Stopped in for a 5:30 pm dinner. Clean, great food, and great atmosphere. Our server and staff was professional in all aspects. If you want to impress your out of town guest this is a good choice.
Showed up 5 min before opening, alone. Was not allowed to wait at the bar until service starts. I'll go else where.
The food was awesome, and the cocktails were fantastic, but the portion size was very small for the price. I got the a salad bowl, & I thought it was a side salad mistakenly brought to our table. Service was poor. Received bread after we were done eating our salads, and my cocktail didn't come out until we were all done eating. I would definitely not go back here.
Had a great night out at Workshop -- the food was delicious, the cocktails inventive and the patio setting was charming. Dog friendly? Yes. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes.
