I've been there now three times for lunch and each time gets better. On the first visit the food was very slow coming out, but it was awesome when it did arrive. Next two visits the food came out very quickly and did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
After being closed for my than a year I looked forward to see the changes that the new owners had made. The restaurant was clean and inviting keeping that "old west charm". The new staff was very friendly, although lacking the professional polish that I am sure will come with time. My party ordered a variety from the menu and no one was disappointed. My steak was cooked perfectly but I wish now I would have asked for the Blu cheese on the side. (they really poured it on) The wine selection was very nice, however a bit high for the house variety. I look forward to my next visit and would recommend you give Ewing's a try.
Brand new all over with an awesome staff to back it up.
If I could give this a 0, I would. My husband's $40 steak was probably one of the worst we have ever had. Although the proprietor was charming enough, being a 'good old boy' doesn't justify poor service and horrible food.
A great historic place to eat good food over looking the scenic and wild Kern River.
