The Coyote Bar & Grill
Reviews
Highly recommend! A lively bar atmosphere on the patio, quiet relaxing environment on the inside. My wife and I, visiting from Dallas, had dinner there a couple weeks ago. Didn't know what to expect but the food was excellent, from the house-made tortilla chips to the massive half slab of ribs I got. This restaurant gave us an unexpectedly great meal at a reasonable price, with good service and nice ambiance.
About 2 years ago the General Manager Aaron Williams had a problem with me bringing my special needs drinking water onto the property. I had explained that I was disabled and that the water came from a certified medical device from my home. He was very persistent and aggressive with me so I finally had to say that I have the ADA on my phone and did I need to call them to resolve the issue. He at that point finally dropped the matter. Over the last two years of me being a loyal customer I have had to endure being harassed by certain waitresses on his behalf telling me that me and the other locals at Coyote don't spend enough and take up seats that could bring in more money. I found this to be very insulting as I am a disabled American veteran on a fixed income and I was spending anywhere from $200 - $700 a month there. It's funny that they only harassed me going into tourist season. I have had several patrons tell me that they only came to Coyote to see me dance. So that tells me that I was good for business. I use to help some of the waitresses from time to time with clearing and cleaning tables. I would help customers find seats. My reward for my kindness there was to be told that I would have to pay a $10.00 corking fee to drink my special needs water on their property. That hurt me so much to be discriminated against like that as a disabled person after being a loyal patron for many years! The last thing is after writing a truthful negative review on yelp that I was 86ed (asked to leave the property and never return.) The other discrimination that I have had to deal with from time to time from them is being asked for a $5.00 cover charge that they don't seem to ask everyone for.
Atmosphere is decent, firepits on the patio and they had a live music, but the food was terrible. Sent most of my food back, paid and left. I would not go back.
Unfortunately unethical disrespectful employees right Chris Webber? (manager at Coyote Bar & Grill) I will no longer be going there. STAY AWAY!!!
Spending 24 years in Santa Fe where the restaurants are excellent, Coyote Bar and Grill is the closest thing I've come to excellent authentic clean New Mexican fare. TexMex not here. 150 tequilas to choose from doesn't hurt. *****
