The Castaway

The view from the top is beautiful and romantic. If you want to impress your date or special someone... add this place to your list! What is also very nice ... is that you can sit in one of those outdoor fire pits to chat as you view the city landscape. I enjoyed it!

Our experience at this restaurant was exceedingly poor. We went today to this restaurant for lunch. The food was mediocre, the ribs and fries served were cold. The fish and chips were not that good either, the fries were cold and the fish was hot but extremely greasy and could have used some draining prior to serving. The food was nothing to brag about specially if you consider that most entrees on the menu were over the $15.00 range. Additionally, the food took a long time to arrive. The waiter was very pleasant and attentive but the attentiveness of the waitress couldn't compensate for the poor quality food that was served at an exorbitant price. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent! The Castaway makes a great "getaway" from the rustle n bustle of the city. The service was good so was the food. The most memorable aspect of course was the spectacular views. nearly 360 degrees of jaw dropping scenery. there's a lot to explore on this property many kodak moments waiting to happen. Parking was easy (there was valet). It's beautiful in either day or night time. We had a good sized party and it was easy for them to accommodate, the menu has great selection and everything that touched the table looked delicious!

We normally love coming up to the Castaway, ordering drinks and watching the sunset. We headed up on Saturday, May 24. Even though there were plenty of places available out on the patio, they told us we needed to give our name and wait. And wait we did. About 20 minutes. And we were finally taken outside. Still lots of tables open. We asked to be seated at the fire pit area. ALL were open as it was still light out. We waited, and waited...no service. We had to ask the bus boy from the table nearby to please send the waitress over. We saw him go over to her, and still she didn't come. We waited some more. No drinks, no service. Nothing. We finally decided to get up and leave. Went to JAX in Glendale and had great drinks and live music. But it was really disappointing being invisible.

I have attended two wedding at the location. The views are phenomenal. Great settings for photography all around. The staff was okay during both my visits, but nothing out of the norm. The food wasn't what I expected, but maybe that's because of the preset menu during the wedding parties.
