The Knotty Shop has always been a favorite place of mine since I was a kid. I went on a bike ride from Tok to Fairbanks back in 2004 and was thankful to be able to stop in for Ice Cream, drinks and a large assortment of snacks before finishing up the multiple day ride to Fairbanks. The owners and staff are some of the nicest people you'll encounter in Alaska. Highly recommend stopping in whether your a tourist or a local.
The Knotty Shop's burl counter is beautiful! The shop sells both locally made items, items made in Russia, and other imports. We enjoy the ice cream (though it's not locally made.) My children enjoy looking at the large display of local animals which have been stuffed and mounted. The people are very friendly. I recommend stopping by.
