Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station
Reviews
Low cost. Updated modern rooms. Amazing location. Free breakfast. Garbage free internet with no paid option for better.
Excellent hotel next to station and only one stop from Amsterdam central. Breakfast more than adequate. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms were excellent and we did not hear any noise from the trains.
5 stars for the weekend price. Good service, very clean rooms.
Great modern hotel for the area. This hotel is one of the "Cheaper" priced for the area and with good reviews we gave it a shot for our anniversary weekend. There was some noise that could be heard due to the train station being literally at the base of the hotel but with it being cold we didn't have to hear too much because we kept the window closed. The hotel has been renovated recently and has a nice modern look to the whole hotel, inside and out. With your stay you will have a private parking garage, for a fee, and free WiFi. The continental breakfast was larger than some other hotels have and the juice and instant coffee wasn't too bad either. The staff always have a smile on their face. The staff even gives you an acknowledgement for just passing by to get something from breakfast area. The hotel also has a full service bar for a relaxing drink after a day of walking in the Amsterdam City Centre. Some of the bad items of our stay was that our mattress was in dire need of removal, we felt the springs upon laying down. Being that we checked in late we didn't bother asking for a different room that I am sure the hotel representatives would have happily granted. The other bad item was how small the parking garage is but the second one is slightly larger; the only problem is that the instructions getting to it could cause some people to get a little irritated. To get into the hotel parking garage and into the hotel itself you have to buzz the front desk and get the door opened for you; could a key card reader be used at these locations instead of having to explain why you're buzzing the front desk. Understandable that you would have to get buzzed into the tiny parking garage to check in, no there is no parking area to check in and you cannot stop on the road due to the bus station that is located at the base of the hotel. I saw how the bus drivers drive, pedal to the floor, I wouldn't want to stop there anyway but the second parking garage could profit from a card reader to get into the parking garage and into the hotel once you're in the parking garage. The directions that I received went like this 'Go to the stop light and take a right and take another right at the second light, there is a little path that looks like a bike path but you can drive on it, it is narrow but a car can go down it'. Well at the second light I took a small path that did look like a bike path and couldn't find the parking entrance. What I did find was some people riding bike getting mad at me for driving down the designated bike path. After circling around all the way to the first stop light and trying the directions again and once again I took the supposed driveway, that was actually a bike path, and eventually after many turns on different pathways found the second parking garage. I would hope that a huge company like Holiday Inn could spend a hundred euros, at most, on signs directing its customers to their secluded parking garage.
Very convenient. Did not notice any noise. Good fast wifi. Good businesses hotel and good value for money
