Houghton Cafe

the area is very comfortable, having lunch and wine in the nature with live music is one of the most enjoyable things to do in this trip. the service is great as well, friendly and efficient. there's an art corner and I am impressed by the works of Dez Smith.

Shitiest service the serving is not even close to polite. 4 guys ordered some lunch served with cutlery of 2 persons never showed up again and didnt respond even when we intended to request. The place embarrassed me and my mates ... will never go back there and wont recommend anyone else either.

We were recommended Houghton Cafe by the Swan Valley visitors centre as a place for a nice lunch without the "fine dining" of places like Sandalford - and we were more than pleased with our experience. We arrived at 2:15pm and found the kitchen had stopped serving food, but we were still allowed to order. We went for the wagyu beefburger, and the fish/prawns and chips. To add to the vineyard atmosphere, after selecting our food we walked over to the cellar door and were given complimentary tastings of wine so we could find the ideal glass to accompany lunch, with no pressure to buy a bottle. When the food arrived, we found both portions were massive, and served with a lovely side salad. A chat with the waitress revealed as much of the produce as possible at Houghton Cafe was Western Australian. I can't recommend the Houghton Cafe highly enough for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, but excellent quality, lunch in the Swan Valley.

45 min wait for food and water from an old wine bottle that hadn't been washed never going back

Good for lunch.
