Went for lunch on a deal in July 2014. The waiter was very friendly and welcoming. The food was OK. I had the calamari for entree which was OK but it was served with tomato and parmesan shavings on a bed of rocket. The cheese seemed an odd inclusion. My wife had the brushcetta which included olives and parmesan shavings. It was quite large (2 pieces) and she only ate one. Her main was lasagna which she did not like as the sauce was dominated by tomato paste. She ate very little. My main was the spaghetti marinara which had a generous amount of seafood (2 mussels, 5 large prawns, fish pieces plus some tough calamari). The sauce was OK but again very tomato dominated. It could have done with some chilli, lemon and more garlic for my liking. I ate most of it, however. The house red was very ordinary. I don't think we will return.
Love open-air dining, great lunch with smoke and beer
I met a business associate for a meeting at the harbour kitchen. When we arrived we were greeted by a very happy, very friendly lady. She advised us on the eveyday coffee specials and we ordered 2 coffee and muffin 'deals'. We tuck our number and sat by the open fire. Our order arrived about a munite later. Both coffee's had clearly been made by a very artistic barista. Mine had a leaf while the other had an heart. The muffins came and to my suprise were still warm from the oven! Yum! In all my time in melbourne i have never had a coffee that good. A+++ to harbour kitchen and its staff. Nice to feel so welcome, i'll definately be back!
Great coffee at reasonable prices. Highly recommended
