DO NOT BOOK A FUNCTION HERE!. I was at a 30th birthday party in which we had hired a function room hired. Things were running as per normal, had the cake, sung happy birthday had a tab running at the bar. All of a sudden, the security ended the function and said to finish our drinks, herded us out like sheep leading us down stairs, ending up outside. I was confused and we were all left wondering wtf was going on. I didn't get a chance to close off my tab and had to go back up stairs and get my license and CC and one of the security guards told me that this is normal? To mass kick out 60 paying guests for no reason and leave everyone standing outside in the cold without even a word as to what the reason was?! I feel really bad for the birthday girl, I didn't get to see her afterwards but I could imagine that she would of gave them a piece of her mind. All I can say is f**ck this place and STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I cannot believe they can treat people this way. Very bad business practice especially at the fact that more than $4000 was spent here to hire the function room not including drinks after the time allocation. Bad business practice and I will encourage those who were there that night to also leave a review about their experience and not let others make the same mistake.
The service was horrible. Bad management. We are on friends birthday and hired function room last Friday. Without any notice they kicked us out. We spend more than $5000 to hire the room for one night and end up birthday girl crying and all friend been left outside and ask to lineup again. Been a business owner myself in many different country and I have never feel such bad experience. I will post my review on all my social media. Never go this place. They don't care about you.
great for summer friday night drinks. one of the places to be for an afterwork catch up drinks with an open bbq.
I normally wouldn't write a review but I think anyone who is researching Alumbra be it for a function or a good night out needs to know this is the best venue in Melbourne for all of above. Second to none atmosphere, drinks, service and tunes.
Horrid door people and management, don't bother wasting your time going, this club is by far the worst place in Melbourne!!
