The Greek On Halifax
Reviews

Tasted ok but was quite pricey for what it was. Ordered the the collosus, the "lamb yiros" was just lamb meat shavings, and not much of it, on top of a Greek salad.

Platters were fantastic, full of grilled seafood. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. Recommend sitting outside on a warm night.

Perfect spot for breakfast and coffee. Awesome every time.

The Greek ticks all the right boxes. I called with short notice to make a booking for a larger group - the staff member that handled my booking was polite and very helpful, and they were able to fit us in. The weather was warm and sunny - an alfresco setting on the street front looked attractive, with shading, however the inside of the restaurant where we were seated was just as fresh and inviting. In terms of food service, The Greek offers a large variety of traditional Greek menu items, including favourites such as yiros, souvlaki and moussaka, as well as more adventurous and lesser known delicasies. The menu items are listed by their greek names, many of which I wouldnt even attempt to pronounce, but dont worry, there are plain english descriptions for each dish, so you shouldnt get confused unless you are completely illiterate. Personally, the stand out for this place is the service. The waiting staff were professional, but still friendly and fun. They ensured we were very well looked after, and that we had a sensational afternoon. There were some short delays on drink service, but this was understandable, considering every chair in the restaurant was filled. In terms of price, beverages are roughly the Adelaide average for a restaurant of this standard. All wines are under $10 a glass, and include some great local drops. Alternatively you can order by the bottle, with the 'house' wines starting at about $25. I did notice some more premium wines on their list, so fair to say they have a wine for everyone. I would descrive the food pricing as excellent value for money, with just about all main plates under $30. Alternatively, order a selection of their delicious mezzes (the Greek version of tapas) for around $15ea. The Greek is definitely a trendy addition to the Adelaide food scene, you wont be dissapointed.

I love this place. Great location, pleasant atmosphere. Love the food and the service as well. Their Big Greek Breakfast and Saganaki Eggs are my favorites. It's really worth a visit!
