A group of 6 dined at Bogart's on Saturday night 2 Nov 2103. The group agreed that the break between the entree and main meal at one hour was too long. There was no real reason for this as the restaurant was at around 40% capacity. The service staff were good and knew what the specials were, the menu selection was good and not overwhelming. The food was good value and good sized portions. The sausages were not nice - very dry and tasteless. The main dining area really needs an update - the ceiling and carpet are very old and the acoustics are terrible. Thank goodness there was no 'backgound' music or we would not have been able to have a conversation. The dancing at the end of the night is a great reason to visit Bogarts and overall an enjoyable night.
A let down. Very poor if any staff training. Staff lounging after Dinner took seats needed for patrons. Unable to even make a soft drink (ll&bitters), martini undrinkable. The Plank (signature dish) ...poorly cooked, cold, accompaniments not fresh, mushroom sauce poor, highlight on plate was potato mash says it all, half tomato fried on one side was a shame. When the room filled the aircon failed. Lift your act guys.
Best fun I've had in years, staff very friendly and helpful and know how to make a yummy cocktail :-)
