Harrigan's Irish Pub & Accommodation

We arrived (group of 7) and stood by the sign that said to wait to be seated. We stood there for 5 minutes while the wait staff looked at us and completely ignored us. In the end we sat ourselves down. We were seated for more than 15 minutes (already had drinks and everything) and a waitress very rudely interrupts and tells us we can't sit in that area because it is reserved. I pointed out that there is no "reserved" sign on the tables and that we had been there for a while already. She was again extremely rude and had the audacity to say that I should have asked her if we could sit there beforehand. I was mortified, I asked her where did she want us to sit and she pointed at some other tables inside, which actually had "reserved" signs on them. Did not make sense at all. The entire place was empty and nobody came in or out while we were there. We could have easily sat at our original spot, the whole thing didn't make sense and the waitress did not have to be so rude.
The waitressing and kitchen staff could not have been more patient, attentive and helpful during our recent lunch at Harrigan's. They stored our birthday cake, plated it and lit candles, provided all the utensils to cut and serve it at the table. With no surcharge for bringing our own cake!! All delivered with a smile. Thank you. Fantastic Sunday afternoon entertainment provided by the Whiskey Lane duo. It was a super hot day and we would have left an hour earlier had the service and entertainment not been so good. Sure I've eaten better meals, but in terms of overall experience for two families with young children, we continue to return to Harrigan's time and time again.
Food was great again, I think this was our third visit. Guinness beef pie and pulled beef burger are standout. Staff were friendly, beers were good, the restaurant had a pleasant smell of woodfire, and there was traditional Irish music playing to boot. What's not to like!
Possibly the worst place to stay in NSW. Booked for 3 nights for a wedding in the area, so bad we cancelled the third night. A violently abusive drunk entered the premises at around 10:30pm on the Second night by taxi, and although security was alerted at this time and asked to call the police, the man proceeded to attack guests, and passers-by for over 4 hours before security did ANYTHING. In which Harrigan's security only acted when the person entered the pool area which was closed for the night, after which the manager let the drunk into a room where he had previously smashed the mirror and glass sliding door, and assaulted other guests. Arrived at this time after having been called by a witness. Harrigan's Irish Pub & Accommodation AT NO TIME contacted police.
Great atmosphere, food was delicious and well-priced, and was quick to arrive. We stopped for lunch over the Easter break and the place was packed. There could have been a few more wait staff on duty since lines were long to order both food and drinks at the bar. This review should be seen as 4.5 stars given that minor detail.
