Pearl Street Bagels
Reviews
Quality food for a reasonable price. Lots of bagels and spreads to choose from, making the combinations almost endless. They don't toast them, which was kind of surprising, but still very good. Went back for lunch and got sandwiches, which aren't very big, but are good. They also offered us free breakfast sandwiches that they hadn't sold but had just pulled out, which was an added bonus.
Needs a toaster... They have the best bagels in town but can't be bothered to toast, and seemed offended that I asked - as if I ordered a well done steak with A1 sauce. The shmear portion is weak for $3
Who doesn't even offer to toast a bagel? Pearl Street boasts lines that frequently go outside to the sidewalk, so they can't be bothered with time-intensive toasting. The friendly staff will speedily shmear your bagel with a wide variety of cream cheeses and flavored butters. The salt bagels with veggie cream cheese was perfectly applied and the chai is the perfect combination of delicate and sweet. The cookies and other treats in the jars look amazing. With all those bagels getting made fresh on site, it gets stifling hot, and there is no outdoor seating.
This bagel shop has subpar bagels that I found myself forcing myself to eat. The coffee was decent but tasted different.
The bagels aren't as good as you would think because they are bland and the outside is hard. Honestly, I would buy from Einstein Bagel over here any day and seeing how their bagels are made fresh daily, that's kind of sad. They also only have one option for people who like sweet bagels and none of their cream cheeses cater to this group either.
