The bar had a pleasant atmosphere. The bartender (Willy) was picking his nose while on duty, which was a bit unappetizing. I ordered a Miller Lite with a lime. The lime was dried out and crusty, perhaps around a week old if I had to guess. I decided not to add it to my beer. I ordered the Veggie Burger basket. Willy misheard my order, and a half hour later a cheese burger basket arrived. Both the food server and Willy seemed unhappy that I had ordered a veggie burger. When my food finally arrived, they had used the same bun and fries that had initially come with the cheese burger. As a vegetarian, I was extremely disappointed.
We always go back for the great Friday night fish fry! It's the best we've found in this area for the price. $8.99 for all you can eat fried, broiled, or batter fried fish. Comes with full salad bar and soups, as well as various potato, pasta, and vegetable entrees. Great service and warm atmosphere in the dining room.
I went to Pour House to eat, I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich, and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. I ate a few bites, and left it, another recent experience, a friend of mine and I went to Pour House to eat, and he ordered the same roast beef sandwich, I warned him not to order it because he has high blood pressure, he was craving salt, and ate it and had a stroke. He is in the hospital his vision is permanently damaged. Almost everything else there tastes good, I really like the chips, and the alpine burgers, the service, as always it depends on the shift. but that salt in the gravy needs to be cut back it's a health hazard, It tasted as if someone dumped an entire salt shaker into the gravy ( no excuse or exaggeration ) this dish obviously wasn't tasted by management. When I bit into the sandwich. I thought the waitress was angry with me and added all that salt because I look native, or was rude, or they had a vendetta but when we went in there the second time, we were hungry had a day at wall mart, and chose Pour House. Different waitress, They did it again. So I must be imagining the whole dumping salt shaker into gravy thing, but it was really bad, what on earth, and why so salty??? People who have vendettas against locals, or political opinions in the kitchen shouldn't work in restaurants , but I don't think that was the case, once in a restaurant in Louisiana I swallowed broken glass that was put in a sandwich because I complained that I had been sitting there for a 1/2 hour with no service, and only 3 people in the place all white came in after me and were served first. They shortly after closed the doors, besides the glass in it , the sandwich wasn't that good anyway. It made me smile when that operation shut down, all because of an angry waitress. I felt sorry for the owner. Remember waiters and waitresses, and cooks. - we are your bread and butter. The customer is there to support your business, get good service, and eat, not much to ask for really for the price we pay, and were there to support you as well. The tip may not always be what you want, but we are still your customer anyway , sometimes tip problems are personal because of your service, or a personality clash, and sometimes it's because we are hungry and broke, and can't cook that day, so keep your rage to yourself, and don't turn someone else's business or food into an attack, or a hate crime to seek revenge for your own personal problems. Pour House -- I like to go eat there, but you gave my friend a stroke, I hope management changes that gravy recipe, I will be in again, and I will order the hot RB to go to the lab, so watch that salt . I don't think it was an attack, but the amount of salt was unreal it literally tasted like someone dumped an entire salt shaker into the gravy ( no excuse) , that recipe has obviously never been tasted by the cook, or the manager. Maybe I should stick to everything else on the menu, the rest of it is good, the service usually is good give or take a few wait staff members, and its always clean, and the prices average for this area, quality is usually good, wait staff usually smiling, and Johnny on the spot, so what happened??????????
Birthday Club at Pour House today. Food was delicious. Service couldn't have been better.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. We had a large hockey group (maybe 50) and gave advance numbers of people. Waited almost an hour for food for food and only once did waitress offer a soda refill. No apologies just "we have another group so you will be next.." .that was after 40 minutes of waiting. Restaurant Business 101 DO NOT BOOK LARGE GROUPS AND THEN ACT LIKE IT IS NO PROBLEM TO HAVE THEM WAIT ALMOST AN HOUR FOR THEIR FOOD .. APOLOGIZE PROFUSELY AND AT LEAST OFFER A DISCOUNT FOR HORRIBLE SERVICE..MAKE AN EFFORT TO REFILL SODAS... You would think any restaurant (in the middle of winter or not) and their waitresses would be grateful to have a large infusion of customers and tips....NEVER AGAIN
