First of all, the place was very dirty . Menu looked a bit boring but we were not familiar with Montpelier and my husband does not like to try anything to unusual while we are traveling because of a weak stomach . We both ordered the bacon burger. It came with fries and coleslaw . Fries were inedible..not even warm. Definitely reheated and dried out and pretty sure from the freezer. Coleslaw was very dull and boring and soggy . Service was not good and it was not even busy. What a mistake we made in choosing this place.
Stop in for a quick lunch and it looked like a cool place to eat. Food looked good for a diner & liked their local organic mission. However first impressions if greeting staff was awkward, a little to formal and sometimes came off rude. She was in her early teens, but needs work. Could tell she was trying at times but was rubbing horns with everyone that came in. Food was excellent. Would have given it extra star if hadn't been for greeter. Other waiting staff were very friendly.
After an absence of several years, I was able to pop in for a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I don't know who the two fellows are whom I'm told run the place now, but they could use some lessons in people skills and basic customer service. The food was only so-so, overpriced, and served with a sour attitude. "Thank you" was definitely not on the menu as I exited. I reluctantly left a tip. I'm possibly relocating to Montpelier, which I love, but you can bet I'll not return here.
Great place local products. Fun staff. Normal diner fair plus vegetarian options. Sit at the big table in the window and meet some new friends!
