We drove out to the diner from Newport to Hardwick about a 45 minutes to an hour drive,we arrived at 5:10 pm on Saturday March 14th 2015 for the Prime Rib dinner.We were welcomed in and told to be seated anywhere we liked.We chose our seat and the waitress came and took our drink order.She brought our drinks back and took our order.My husband ordered Chicken Alfredo and I ordered the Prime rib.As were sitting there,another couple comes in and sits at the table across from us,they order,the prime rib also. Then another couple comes in a few minutes later and sits across the way.The waitress comes out a little bit later and serves the table across from us their prime rib,then a few minutes later the other table that came in was served..about 40 minutes in now,and were still not served! The couple at the table across from us received their check,finally the waitress comes over,she bends down and quietly says,your ticket was misplaced and we have no more prime rib !!! She says would you like to look at the menu again..We calmly got up,put our jackets on and exited the restaurant.Not once did they say would you like to place an order for something else on us?No,she just let us walk out.So as far as how many stars i would give this establishment,well i think you can guess!
I have had breakfast here four or five times since it reopened. Food is good diner food with hot coffee. Clean and neat as can be on the inside. They did a great job renovating it. Plenty of tables, a few booths and seating at the counter. Worth a stop!
