Upon entering Pino's, my boyfriends Mother and I were greated promptly. Now my boyfriends Mother used to eat at Pino's all the time years ago and said it was always good until a change in managment...we were hoping today would be great after hearing about the new lunch buffet they were offering. We checked out the buffet first to see if we would want to do that. Now we did show up at around1pm & I understand that most people take lunch at/around noon, but when we arrived the food looked like it had been sitting for over an hour. The onions looked colorless, the pizza like the cheese had already gotten cold, and the lettuce to make salads with was sitting in at least a quarter inch of water, clearly from the melted ice that was originally there, I had to pick dry lettuce off the top & all of the insides of the tomatoes were pretty much rotten. I made due, thinking perhaps ordering from the menu would be better. Oh let me back track for a second, when we sat down, we were brought menus, but the waitress didn't ask us about drinks. We actually didn't get drinks until we ordered, got out salads, completely finished our salads and I had to ask for our drinks. Mind you, it wasn't busy at all. There was one other couple in there. The two waitresses working were moving some tables around and the other waitress was actually giving her table their drinks. When I did ask our waitress for our drinks, she didn't even say sorry or say anything! She just closed her eyes and walked away. When our food came out, we both got lasagna, it was pretty good. A large portion, very hot, & ill say it, decent tasting. We got some breadsticks with it, if you can even call them breadsticks. They were greasy to the touch, mostly chewy, & looked liked they'd been cooked days ago. Honestly, an impression was made and it was not a good one. For anyone concidering Italian Cuisine for lunch, it's worth it to drive the few extra miles to Franks over in Tightsqueeze, off of 29. Or if you're pressed for time and need to stay in Chatham, the mexican restaurant across the street is slightly less bad. I definitely hope the management gets involved.
If you like your margarita pizza with ricotta cheese and sundried tomatoes then you will love this restaurant. The Pepsi was delicious.
Fair price & generous portion. Excellent.
