Tree Restaurant & Grill
Reviews

My wife and I went there the other night. Based on reviews, I was expecting better. Atmosphere - The place is done up nicely and the lighting was right for a good steak. But they were playing this terrible Rebecca Black and the whole Ark Music Factory music. Made no sense since everyone one there was over 55. We asked them to change it and they turned it down and found a better station. Service - Our waitress was attentive but didn't bring our salads and bread until I asked about them when the main course arrived. Food - They were out of onion rings at 5:45pm on a Saturday night, got the mozzerella bites instead, tasty but pretty greasy. My wife had the grilled shrimp w/ potatoes au gratin and beans on the side. It was all very good, the potatoes were more like a hash brown, though. I had the 16oz ribeye. It was a nice cut and cooked well, but it was spiced too much. Way to salty for my tastes. Its hard to find a good steak around so we may go back someday but will ask them to go light on the seasoning. Price - I think if they would pull everything together in a more professional manner the $23 for the steak would have been fine. But it seems like they are OK with being out of certain foods and the atmosphere needs some work. Didn't feel worth my money. Part of a good steak is definitely the atmosphere.

The hamburgers are the best. The service and food and atmosphere are above average. Love to stop here every time we drive through Woodville, TX.

My husband and I have gone here several times & I always found the bartenders to be a bit rude, however it's a nice restaurant in a town where there are few options. Tonight this restaurant has lost our business for good. They lost our good opinion, and any if anyone comes into my place of work and asks for places to eat in Woodville (which happens often enough) I will tell them not to go there. We were also considering holding an office xmas party there but no longer. Here's what happened: My husband likes to go there for beer, appetizers, and football (and they do advertise Thursday night football & beer specials on a large sign in front of their restaurant). Being responsibly adults I'll drop him off and pick him up to avoid his having to drive. Anyhow, the bartender told him tonight that he cannot just have a beer, he HAS to order food, he understandably asks to speak to the manager. The owner comes to the front of the bar and says "This is my restaurant I can run it how I want. If I want to make people order food for the beer specials I can!" When my husband asked about the sign outside the owner said that he is taking it down tomorrow. At this point I told my husband he should have left, but instead he stayed. The bartender offered that he just order food to go when he's ready to leave. So he stayed for 3 beers and then tried to order food. She informed him that they were closing early tonight and that the kitchen was closed. (So now he's not getting the beer at the advertised price). He finally received his food after a bit of a hassle and was given the stink eye by the security guard, (I should add in here that my husband is an police officer himself and not some strange looking punk). After I came to pick him up we promptly threw away the food since we felt certain they spit in it & decided to never return to this horrible restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE. Customer service like this should not be acceptable.
