I have been eating the nachos for years. Well, no more. The chips were so stale I had to throw them out. At almost $10 an order, this is egregious. If this is how they pay attention to their food, I'm disappointed. I hope Anthony Scott enjoyed my last $10 because it's the last he'll ever get. And being a cab driver who's asked where a good place to eat is, I will definitely not mention The Oyster Bar.
They say your first impression is a lasting one. Well, my family and I ate here at The Oyster Bar and Grill for the first time and we were impressed. The food was phenominal and the service was even better. We all had something different to eat. Oysters, catfish, cheeseburgers and nacho's. It was ALL cooked to perfection, served in a timely manner with smiling faces and we left with smiles on our faces. We will be going back!!
My husband was served a bad fried oyster (it was green inside) that made him throw up immediately. The waitress/manager did not apologize for the incident... her only comment after I told her that he was getting sick as we spoke was, "Well, what would you like me to do about it?" She then continued to tell me that someone else had gotten sick off the fried oysters previously that evening but apparently that did not stop them from continuing to serve them. I will not ever go back strictly out of fear of getting food poisoning.
great burger! i read the previous review and tried it out. my husband had the raw oysters and liked them. they were not as good as the alaska fresh oysters we are used to but he liked them none the less. he also had the fried shrimp and okra basket and loved it. their fresh salsa and handmade chips were fantastic. the beers were not as cold as possible though. the sweet potato fries were wonderful! the queso dip tastes like the fake powder cheese found in the mac/cheese boxes. basically stick to the oysters, salsa, burgers and sweet potato fries. we will be going back!
Enjoy the laid back atmosphere, plenty of TVs to watch my favorites games. Food is good and most of the wait staff is friendly.
