Walked in on a September afternoon - empty store except for a young man playing a racing game on Playstation (or something). He acknowledges me and asks me to be patient as he apparently is attempting to get to a convenient stopping point. I consider this a bold (pun unintended) move that means he is either an idiot as relates to customer service or supremely confident in his coffee making abilities. Having nowhere to go - I don't mind the short wait. This young man completes the course and asks me what I want. "A cappuccino and a vanilla latte." He asks me which is for me - I tell him the cappuccino. He asks me if I want it dry or wet and then patiently explains the difference. I ask for a "wet" cappuccino - he makes it and explains the "rules of the house". The "rules" state that if I don't like it - they pour it out and comp the next drink. He completes the 'cino and dares me to try it. Best damn cappuccino I've ever had. Serious as a heart attack - this guy knows how to make coffee. He starts in on the latte - I grab a 6 oz. bag of Jamaican Blue and then make the fatal mistake of asking for some pointers. He starts in on the topic of coffee and I could have been there for three hours had he not had the presence of mind to stop himself. This employee has forgotten more about coffee than I've ever known. The thing that I loved about this place was the fact that the person working there did not take the gratuitous pot-shots at Starbucks or any of that. He was awesome at what he did and that was enough. Excellent people do not find it necesary to belittle others. They let their excellence make the case. When you are in SPI - take the time to stop by this place. You will be glad you did. Great. Freaking. Coffee.

Best cup of coffee I've had. Period.

Just tried to go and despite the hours posted online and their DOOR it is closed. Especially disappointed as they seem to be the only coffee place in the area that even reports to be open later on Sundays.
