Love this place. General Tso's Chicken is off the chain.

Great food good prices

Tran’s Restaurant did not look particularly promising when we entered. The décor was okay, but there was hardly anybody there. We were there for a late lunch on a week day, so that was probably the reason. As we were soon to find out, the sparse crowd was not because of the food. I ordered the Thit Nuong, marinated, thinly sliced char-grilled pork served on a bed of tender greens topped with crispy fried egg rolls. Dipping sauces of soy and fish sauce were provided. My lovely wife-thing ordered one of their delicious fruit drinks and spring rolls. I had this dish before at the legendary Tan Dinh (located in a suburb of New Orleans) and absolutely loved it. Tran’s version was on par with Tan Dinh’s and less expensive. Our waiter was very accommodating and engaging. Unfortunately, after eating at Tran’s you can’t zip on down to the ‘quarter, but if you are looking for fine Asian cuisine in the Bay City area, you can not go wrong with Tran’s.

Fried rice too heavy, dark and dry.
