Bought a super low mileage used truck (sub 1000 miles) that was 2 years old. Was assured that all recalls had been heeded and any problems had been corrected. Later had radiator blow up 3 days out of warranty in another town many hours away. Talked to ford mechanic in that town, he said it was obvious a recall for the radiator had not been followed up on, even though it was recorded as having been done. Ford paid to have radiator replaced, thankfully. Got a recall notice in the mail last week stating that the ecm needed to be flashed. Called and asked about this, was informed that approximately half the time this flash caused major problems and would result in me having to get the instrument cluster replaced at my expense, and lower my mpg considerably. Got a second opinion from another ford dealer, was informed they had never had that issue. Found out another recall on the truck had not been followed up on, and the flash put my truck to working properly and almost doubled my mileage.
