Such Great Entertainment. Normally when I go to a "local" bar, I don't expect much. And to be truthful, I didn't expect much here. Imagine my surprise when the one of the waitresses stabbed one patron, then another, held up a third, and then a gunfight broke out! Seriously, one of the most exciting nights of my life. And did I mention the $2 Shiner Bocks? Furthermore, I must add that my charcuterie plate appeared to be perfectly prepared, but unfortunately, it ended up on the floor after the gunfight, so I really can't comment on its taste in good conscience...

When I pay $2 for a bottle of beer, I expect a magical experience, with attentive wait staff and a calm, welcoming ambiance. Imagine my surprise to find that the wait staff were much more attentive than I expected. The barmaid looked me right in the eye as she held a knife to my throat and lifted my wallet. I expected some sort of light appetizer, perhaps tapas. Instead, all they had were Beer Nuts and Slim Jims. The plating left much to be desired. I selected the Slim Jim, and I found it to be heavy on the garlic with something of a discordant lard note. A gunfight broke out just as I was enjoying a light apertif of Coors. The smell of gunpowder and blood, and the screams of the patrons, overwhelmed the light, crisp apple note of the Coors. Everyone makes mistakes, but the management really should provide some water to clear the palate after such an event. My bartender was more concerned with tending to his wound (it was only a flesh wound, after all) than he was with fulfilling my request. This is unforgiveable.

Ambiance is not this place's forte, to be sure. I mean, the sopressata on the charcuterie board was positively rancid, but the wine selection wasn't entirely out of boxes, so all was not lost. I should count myself lucky; some jackass who ordered the fuckin' fruit and cheese tray got stabbed by the barmaid. Clearly not a local.

Not too bad overall. The fruit and cheese plate was well executed, as was the Lobster Bisque and SteakTartare. The wine list was extensive, but the Chardonnay was served too warm. I mentioned this to the barmaid and she stabbed me. Still would go back for half-price wine Wednesdays, though.

The barmaid was very unfriendly, the place was dirty and most of the clientele were rough, loud and rude. I travel all over Texas in my work, and am exposed to lots of watering holes, this one is at the bottom of my list.
