We visited these guys yesterday afternoon. The girls at the counter were really friendly, fun and sweet. They have discounts if your military, student or medical professional, which was great!!.. the walk from the Shanty II to the closest river entrance was very short. On our way out, we got picked up by the shuttle. The driver was really nice and friendly as well. Shanty II has a snack schack with fajita tacos, roasted corn, sausage on a stick, etc... They also have showers so we were able to rinse off before getting in the vehicle. We will definitely be coming back!!

Awesome place in a great location. Float the river and have a drink at the Tiki Bar! Always a good time!

Very Interesting Difference in Response/Service I just received upon just calling with a Question to Shanty Tubes vs their neighbor River Sports Tubes. I have floated this specific stretch of River many times, and always find it the most appealing. I realize they are both busy as hell and have limited time to be on the phone during their peak season at peak hours. I called in regards to the flow of the river being "Slow and low" presently and how, or would the flow of the river be affected by the heavy rains coming in next week. The Response I received from Greg at Shanty Tubes was very logical and responsive versus the "I don't F'n Know" from the butthole over at River Sports Tubes- Who repeatedly insisted I just asked the stupidest question known to man. A Question that only God himself could ever know. Greg explained that though its hard to tell -it's basically based on the pattern of Rainfall falling North of Canyon Lake in places like Kerrville and surrounding areas- obviously allowing the water to trickle down to canyon lake which feeds the river- Which directly answered my question, helping me plan my trip. Direct responses to random questions like this aren't always easy- But what a night and day response I received. OH and if Elvis Floated there- they certainly Rock! I'll be there next weekend!

Every other business was real rude to me and my family Shantys gave us a military discount and went out of there way to makw us happy let two of my small children ride in one big tube and saved me thirty dollars! The hill is a little much I would recommend putting a wagon at the tops of the trails. They also let us do the horseshoe twice I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Nick Castle Houston tx

I have been coming to Shanty Tubes for 10 years! I have never had issues with being treated rudely with anyone. I have seen Shanty employees go out of there way to help provide discounts, and shuttle service. I am a regular customer, and I've been there when they are extremely busy. I have never had to wait in any line for a long period of time. Even this year, while the water level has been rather slow, shanty has informed people before they rent their tubes, so there are no surprises. You can't get mad at Shanty for low water in the river! I think Shanty Tubes has always been my tubing place of choice.
