Cocky's Wing Bar
Reviews
I wanted to hold my review for my second visit just to make sure it was accurate. That being said this place is pretty good. I come from a town that has 4 or 5 wing places and endless more if you go to a neighboring town so I've been a wing patron and was VERY disappointed when I moved to Burleson and there was only Buffalo Wild Wings (so I thought) Cocky's biggest plus is the staff! The waitresses all seem to have a great attitude and all work together great! You get the feeling their all friends and having fun working which is awesome for the atmosphere. The Manager was moving around 100 miles an hour making sure his wait staff was good and stopped by every table from time to time to check on things. A woman who I assume is the owners wife was fantastic! Greeting everyone as they came in and making sure everyone got seated (UFC Fight) also who I assume would be the owner was helping seat and serve drinks. The first major downfall is the seating. It is seat your self which during busy times is very problematic (two people taking up a 6 top while 5 people are crammed at a 4 top) There are two pool tables in the side room if that was dropped to one they could fit several more seats. More seats means more money! The audio for games and fights is lacking badly. The audio comes from two main areas so it seems so if your in the middle dinning area you can't hear anything. The food was pretty good I prefer it over BWW. The spotlight item for my wife and I was the fried pickles they were awesome. We were sad to see that they did not offer anything that was actually HOT like a Chipotle sauce or even a truly hot buffalo sauce. The first visit the food did seem to come out kinda slow but it was a packed house. On the second visit every came out much quicker with just as big of a crowd so that was good. There were a couple other "bad" things. There where a few customers which felt it was ok to serve their own drinks (from the fountain not the bar) and customers or possibly off duty employees walking into the kitchen. All and all its a great atmosphere with the best option for wings around. I think if they can find a larger space when their lease is up they would do nothing but pack that place as well.
This was our first time eating at Cocky's, and needless to say we won't be going back. Our waitress was pleasant but it took over 25 minutes for us to get our food- wings should NOT take that long (the place was dead, btw)!! My husband got the boneless wings which looked more like popcorn chicken and I had the traditional wings. The flavors we got (garlic parmesan, and sweet&spicy) were very lacking and bland, and the fries were wayyyy too salty. Next time we are craving wings, we'll just go to BWW- MUCH better and cheaper, too!!
Great Wings + Great Staff + Great Happy Hour = Great Times!!!!
Great wings(especially the garlic parmesan)! The ownership is ultra friendly and wait staff is always very nice. Tip: If you go on Saturdays from 5pm-9pm you can get an incredibly valuable all-you-can-eat wings and fries meal for only $12.99. It cannot be beaten.
BA with the DC,CC, and EC! Come get your E.D! Awesome wings too.
