We first had Neighbors a couple of weeks after they opened in August and we loved it so much we make it a point to stop every time we make the trip from Austin to College Station. First off, you can't beat looking over the Colorado River while eating pizza and drinking beer. Secondly, the pizza is incredible and you better order some garlic knots too. Finally, the service is really friendly and they make you feel right at home. Glad to have found this gem in Bastrop and I'll just say that it's definitely worth the drive from Austin any day of the week.
I love Neighbor's! Only a short drive from Austin, it is the perfect place to get away from the city for amazing food, live music on the deck and beautiful views of the river. We've been back a few times since their opening in August and have enjoyed every experience. The pizza here is truly delicious. The Margherita and Tree Hugger are my favorites, and be sure to check out their specialty pies. On our last visit, the special pizza was prosciutto and arugula with pine nuts, garlic and truffle oil, and was out of this world! I'm also a big fan of their salads, which are so fresh and unlike any I've had in Bastrop. I am continually impressed with the quality of their ingredients and appreciate that their dough is made daily from scratch. Garlic Knots and Caprese Skewers are also favorites! Neighbors occupies an amazing old wooden building with large windows that bring the natural beauty of the grounds inside. The lovely rustic interior is casual and welcoming and the decks offer plenty of outdoor seating with a view of the yard and stage down by the river. Add the live tunes and delicious food, and it's the kind of place where you just want to stay awhile. We were recently visiting friends in Bastrop and enjoyed watching football and eating at the bar, which has a great variety of beer and fast and friendly service. Needless to say, we will definitely be back soon and hoping for more music in the yard this fall!
This place is awesome, great beer, great music, great location and terrific food..what more could you ask for.
