Preservation Pub

Fantastic! If you're within walking, hell, even driving distance of here, I strongly recommend coming here. Great atmosphere, staff, & music! I must see kind of place!

This was a great place to hang out and enjoy a drink and some live music. The menu is basically pizza and sandwiches. When I asked if they could do a salad since I am gluten-free, they said no. My husband had a sandwich though and said it was good.

Always a fun place to go. Usually live music. Interesting crowd. Good beer selection at reasonable prices. Awesome quotes and photos all over wall

I spent this past Friday and Saturday nights (24-25 Aug 2012) at various spots around Knoxville, with a small group of acquaintances. The final stop on Friday night was the Preservation Pub, and it was the absolute highlight of my lone trip to Knoxville. I scored the food a 2, but only because I only had three beers while I was there (no food), and don't want to give high marks for something I didn't technically experience. However, the blues band playing on the ground floor and the come-as-you-are, free-spirited atmosphere was terrific. The decorations matched the musically rich atmosphere to a tee. The place was packed and the bartenders were as quick, friendly, and accommodating as I could ask. I'm sad to admit that I did not take advantage of the casual presence of The Lumineers, while I was there. But, I much preferred escaping into the ebb and flow of the down-stairs stage. The place isn't for everybody, though. It definitely has more of an artsy feel and might not be a enjoyable experience for those looking for a polished posh experience.

We jumped in the Tahoe and made our way down to Knoxville for the weekend. Preservation Pub was recommended by an employee at the hotel. We checked it out and enjoy happy hour. It's a smoking joint so be prepared to smell like cigs when you leave. They do have a non-smoking floor and Roof top Garden but if I recall correctly it wasn't up. If I ever make it down to Knoxville again I'd visit again.
