Main Street Cafe & Catering
Reviews
I had a wedding with Main Street Catering on May 18th. Going into the wedding I heard that main street was awesome. I heard that they were the people to go to. I had several meetings with Breelyn and everything seemed to be going great. About a week before the wedding we get a call from her saying that she isn't actually going to be at the wedding, shes just going to send some of her servers there. We had talked about everything that was going to happen and I just assumed that she would have told them and everything would be fine. Well, we get to the reception site after the ceremony and its raining and the caterer has the hors d'oeuvres set up outside away from everyone who is under the tent, the decorations that we were told breelyn would bring were not there, and the fruit platter that was supposed to be out for hors d'oeuvres was no where to be found. The food was cheap and not good, and the servers took 20 minutes to set up for the toast. Having a good caterer is so important to making the wedding run smoothly. If you are looking for that then don't go with Main Street. I felt like my wedding was so unorganized. The one good thing about them, however, is that they make great desserts!
I've been eating at Main Street Cafe since I was a teenager and it gets better with age, just like George Clooney! The staples on the menu, like chicken salad, the Bevo- Burger, and Turkey Chef Salad always have been and remain to be some of the best food I have found in the Tri-Cities area. The changing lunch specials and soups are always inventive and incredibly delicious. One of my new faves is the Bacon and Mushroom Soup. It's utterly delectable and satisfying! Whenever anybody asks me for a good lunch place or a good caterer to check out! I ALWAYS say Main Street! You can't find their standards for quality and freshness anywhere else. The restaurant is a renovated old post office, so it's just a really unique space to relax, get a beer, and eat some fantastic food!
Went in just for coffee, no fancy espresso drinks, but good brown coffee. We had already eaten and regretted it because the place was busy and the atmosphere was great. We did a walking tour of Jonesborough and came back a few hours later and got some delicious baked snacks and more coffee. They gave us the coffees as a free refill! And the brownies were delicious! We will be back.
