We really enjoyed our meal at Stone Soup Café. It’s just a short distance off the Interstate, but so much better than the chain restaurants typically along I-26. As you might expect from their name, the Soups were hearty and delicious. But the sandwiches were also really good. My Smokin' Turkey sandwich was amazingly flavorful. Likewise, the Chicken Positano Sandwich was another great choice. Even the Cheeseburger was better than average. Everything appeared to be homemade with fresh, high quality ingredients. They even offer a nicely landscaped area for outside dining. Check out their informative web site for current offerings and the brunch menu. I highly recommend you give them a try.
While driving back from NC to FL my girlfriend and I found this restaurant via smartphone and decided to try it out. We're glad we did. It's a nice cozy place and everyone was friendly. We even met the owner who was both warm and gracious. Unlike the other reviews, we had a good experience with both our wait person and the owner. The food was pretty good, much better than the average fare that you would hope to find on the road while traveling. The combination of the internet and smartphones will put small businesses like these on more even footing with franchise restaurants who can more easily afford interstate advertising. That's a good thing because we enjoyed this restaurant and would go back to it again if the timing was right on our next drive.
My husband and I dined here on Valentines Day this year, for the first time. I had the Shecrab soup which was amazing - best I've ever had! I've fallen in love with the mixed green salad and have had it on several occasions now, for lunch. It's wonderful to have such a great venue to eat at in such a small town. We're really pleased we've found Stone Soup.
What a find! Looking for something not fast food, we gave this place a shot. What a great decision. The food is great. Nice beer selection. I think the burger I had was the Blue Burger, it was awesome. The wife was thrilled... Which is always a nice bonus.
