Anchor Subaru
Reviews
I purchased my Legacy GT at Anchor and as far as the sales experience goes, they arent amazing but I got a great car at a good price. The PARTS department is HORRIBLE though. When I purchased my car it needed to have some door panels replaced which they said would be done when i picked up the car. When I picked up the car it was not done and no one informed me ahead of the hour trip it takes for me to get to the dealer. The second time i came down to get the parts, same problem, no parts and no call. The third time was a charm so at least it EVENTUALLY got done. Then I went for a scheduled service and asked for snow tires as I needed them before the next storm, only to get to the dealer and no tires were there. Now its snowing and I have no tires and they failed to call me ahead of time again and I feel like I've wasted too much time and energy with this place, never again.
First and foremost, let me start by stating that we LOVE our Subaru. It has had no problems and I have done all of the maintenance myself since purchasing it only a few months ago. Now, to Anchor Subaru: We feel completely duped. When going through the financing of our vehicle we discussed the options for the Added Subaru Security. Both my wife and I strongly insisted that we had no need for the added security, which only ended up adding roadside assistance, tire repair and towing, ALL of which we have through our car insurance company. So obviously we had no need for these options and insisted with the Finance Manager that we simply want to finance the money left after our down payment. Now comes today. My wife received a manila envelope with the "Added Security" which had everything we had EXPLICITLY explained we DID NOT want. We were fortunate enough that our vehicle was approved for a warranty from Anchor that came with a lifetime warranty, so what need of an extended one did we have? Of course we panic and start tracking through all of our paperwork from the transaction for the vehicle. We find that we had been signed up for the package, totaling $2500 EXTRA on the total of the vehicle. Now, before people start to bash or rebuttal what we are complaining about. Yes we did initial all of the paperwork, all 50 spots. However, the fact that we discussed with this Finance Manager that we did not want this, we feel as if the dealer stole from our pockets. We are a family just starting out and are EXTREMELY upset that ANCHOR SUBARU, RI forced upon us the extended 6yr/100k warranty. We have since followed up with SUBARU of AMERICA and are complaining about the service at this dealership and how we have lost all trust in them. Lets just say that we will only be communicating with Subaru of America from now on and working vigorously to remove this.
Let me just start by saying that Mike Hearsey at Anchor Subaru is the guy to go to for any and all Subaru enthusiast who are looking to buy a new Subaru, my 2nd Gen Legacy was running on its last leg and I needed a new one car, obviously i was going to buy another Subaru. I had initially planned on going to another dealership but saw Anchor Subaru on route there and decided to pull over it was entirely the best decision i made i got extremely lucky with Mike Hearsey who shared the same passion for Subarus i do i told him what i was looking for and in less than 20 mins he had a list of vehicles and options available for me to choose from, i love my new Legacy and ill definitely recommend this dealer
My old Subaru died enroute from MA to visit friends in Providence. Went there for a repair, which was handled extremely quickly and courteously (on a Saturday!!), but became very clear I needed to get a new (used) car IMMEDIATELY. Went from service to the excellent and patient salesman Gladimir, who was smart, efficient, and funny: the perfect combination. Despite the pressure I was under, never felt hassled or pressured. Drove away on Monday in a new (for me) Outback - the staff there took excellent care and attention to the somewhat confusing transaction of registering the car in NY. Not at all a "car-person" so can't really compare to others in that area - but would certainly go there again if I lived in that part of the country!
My experience exceeded my expectations. Sean Murray was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. I would highly recommend Anchor and Sean to anyone.
