One of the most charming restaurants you'll ever visit. During the summer, the massive front porch is amazing. The menu goes on and on. Not every dish is fantastic, but all I've had are good. They now have a gluten-free version of the menu, which is great. Truly a unique restaurant that must be experienced.
Everybody's used to be one of my favorite restaurants, to the point that I even worked there as a waitress during my first semester of college (and believe me you do not want to work for these people, but that's another topic altogether.) The food is really inconsistant. Some of the stuff is delicious on a regular basis, like the unique and yummy farmer's salad. Dessert and drinks are also a pretty sure bet (even though a lot of the cakes and pies are bought in and NOT homemade). However, last time I went there about 2 months ago, I got the Malyasian Eggplant Bake, which I normally love, and it was practically inedible. Huge trunks of barely steamed broccolli, cold eggplant, overly sweet sauce, not cohesive at all. Very disappointing. Also, on this particular occasion, they had the most obnoxious music playing very loudly. My mother asked them to turn it down. Another problem is the menu. It makes the dining experience difficult for customers and servers alike. Because it's so huge, it's overwhelming for the customer and next to impossible to decide. From what I remember as a server, the kitchen isn't too keen on doing subsitutions since the menu is already so huge, so that makes it hard on the servers. If you have to tell your table that, no, they can't have that dish without rice and with extra veggies, they're not going to be too happy, thus your tip will suffer. The tip that most servers work extremely hard for, and in this particular situation, the circumstances are beyond the server's control. Also, they're constantly running out of items - or never had them in the first place (or at least haven't stocked them in awhile, especially if they're not among the more popular items). It's uncommon to go to Everybody's and not have at least one person in your party be told "Sorry, we're out of that." And the whole "cooked to order" thing is BS - they do A LOT of advanced prep and each item is NOT cooked to order. ALL of that said, the catering is usually pretty good. They catered my best friend's wedding last summer and all of the food was excellent. Whatever they're doing for the catering arm of their business could be applied to the restaurant part of things. Just my two cents!
Poor service (had to get up twice to get service after waiting for my server for several minutes) Bad food (so oily it was dripping oil and I could barely eat it, taste was bland. These were veggies, not supposed to be swimming in oil) Will never return.
