We have been here before, actually about 2 months. ago. At that time the food was excellent, the service was excellent, but the prices were a bit high....Oh well, everything is more these days!!! This time service was annoying, When wife was served soup she asked for our bread or crackers...well that is not the way they do it....No crackers, and bread, (1roll apiece) comes with salad...period Now, we had a gift card otherwise I most likely would have passed on ordering the scallops as an appetizer since it was priced at $16, but I like scallops and it was a gift....Got (2) scallops each a half dollar size. My filet mignon, ordered med well was really over done. $39.00 No, we did not complain....Just don't do that, but complaining now for others. Place is beautiful but , really???? I guess it makes sense to them to charge outragous prices and serve a few people each night rather than fill the place and serve high quality high price. High price is fine, modest portions are fine, but it should send you home with a memorable experience for this amount of money.......

We had been to dinner at the Georgian Inn, and had promised ourselves that we would come back for a stay eventually. We had a chance last weekend, and the stay was better than we had hoped. The staff is extremely friendly and seems immediately to treat the guests as family. The hotel is small, so it is possible for all of them to really focus on each guest. There were many nice touches, and the room and food were excellent. This place is somewhat remote, but well worth the drive. The building is beautiful, and the owner has made an outstanding effort to restore it to its original state. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again, and am trying to think of more excuses to spend the night in western Pennsylvania.

The Georgian Inn of Somerset PA, a 1915 Historic Mansion An unbelievable experience!! A rare discovery of graciousness, customer service and class! Our story begins …….I made a reservation for a party of four (possibly six), for Monday, Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 at 12:30PM, lunch. We were traveling 2.5 hours to see two memorials in the area and have lunch at the Georgian Inn, a beautiful 1915 historical mansion we found online. We were running a little late with a visit to the Flight 93 Memorial, so I called to ask if an arrival of 1PM was okay. No problem. When we arrived, we noticed only one other car in the parking lot, which seemed strange for such a beautiful place. We were greeted by Sheila and called by name, which we found impressive. We were seated in a most beautiful room, with 13’ ceilings, exquisite moldings and architecture, at a table surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful view. Our table was adorned with white tablecloths, a picture frame stating “Reservations for Gilbert Party” and personalized menus with ”Gilbert Party” printed on them. What wonderful touches! We ordered our drinks, blackberry tea, which was excellent, and began to peruse our menus. After ordering, as Sheila continued to check on us we asked questions about the history of the mansion which she answered, then brought us brochures with the history, services and amenities of the Georgian Inn. Still no one else came in. It was just us four. One member of our party began to wonder why we were the only ones there. Sheila was asked about this and much to our surprise we were told that the Georgian Inn was actually closed on Memorial Day. I asked how I had been able to make a reservation. A mistake had been made in the office and the owner decided that since it was their mistake, they would not call to tell me of the error, but rather would honor the reservation and serve us. What business owner would does this? We were astounded. Sheila, who turned out to be the manager of kitchen services, had come in on this holiday, greeted us, waited on us, cooked for us and later gave us a tour of two of the bedrooms upstairs in the B&B. Over the years we have visited many quality establishments across the US, but never experienced the above and beyond customer service like this. What a rarity! Sheila was so gracious to us and the food was wonderful! We apologized to Sheila profusely and told her we would be writing a review. We also plan to make a future reservation to stay and take advantage of their unforgettable hospitality. Hopefully we can meet the owners, Charles and Stephanie Charrie, whom we find to be quite extraordinary! Travelers, please don’t miss The Georgian Inn at Somerset! Our deepest gratitude for a most memorable experience, one that we will be talking about for years to come. Sincerely, Debra and Ken Gilbert, Jeannine and Dana Lafferty (WV).

We had my daughter's bridal shower at Georgian Inn and it was outstanding! The afternoon tea was presented well and the variety was very nice. The setting was just perfect. Staff were helpful and very accomodating. A well done event! Will certainly return.

Well worth the little extra cost over a hotel. Private baths, excellent restaurant and staff and beautiful building!
