Devon Seafood Grill
Reviews
First visit was great. Great ambiance, interesting and delicious food. Fun server. Second time was only OK. Food was somewhat burnt and just looked hastily made. Server was only OK. For a $135 check for two (no appetizers, one glass of wine, and dessert, including tip), it should be better than OK.
The first time I took my wife to Devon Seafood Grill we were floored by the 5 star service and atmosphere, and I assume that you will typically receive the same treatment. However, this evening we attended a musical at the Hershey Theatre and left the show early just because we were excited to stop in at Devon before they closed. We both worked as waitstaff/bartenders throughout our college careers so knowing that showing up at 9:45 when they close at 10 was a party foul, we decided to just sit at the bar and immediately informed the bartender that we just wanted to grab an appetizer and a drink. Apparently this was nothing short of asking for his right kidney, as he made an annoyed face, gave us a menu and told us to "hurry up because the kitchen is closing". Ok that's almost fair, until he asked what we wanted to drink. I asked to look at a drink menu and then came the overdramatic rolling of the eyes. At that point we decided to just leave. I expected more professionalism from a restaurant of this caliber. Never wrote a review in my life but I was steaming the entire drive home and still am. They will no longer be receiving our praises.
As I write this, the rating is 4.3 stars, don't believe it. It's a 5 star place. I've been all over the US and have eaten as some very fine establishments, this place is among my top 10 anywhere. We're lucky to have such a place here in South Central Pennsylvania. Service is excellent, food is excellent. This is our go to place for nights out.
FANTASTIC!!!!! We had a reservation so we were seated right away. It was a beautiful place. The food was out of this world. I would definitely go again when in the area again.
If I lived within 50 miles of Hershey I would dine at the Devon at least twice a week. The seafood is superb and the dining experience is delightful. We ordered something of a tapas menu with several small dishers - appetizers, soup, salad, sides and dessert. It was the best meal we'd had on a two week roadtrip from New York State to western Kentucky and back...and there has been nothing better since we got home. This restaurant is truly a 'Don't Miss' if you are in Hershey or Harrisburg for the evening.. Note: It can be hard to find because it is behind Houlihan's on the main intersection in town. Pull into the parking facility, park you car and look around. You'll find it and be happy you did.
