Bobo Rice Bowl
Reviews
Highly recommended if you want Asian food. More specifically, Chinese food. The menu claims to have Japanese and Chinese food. We only ordered Chinese. Also, I am Taiwanese, and asked the waiter to cook to Chinese tastes. Having said that, the food was excellent! Not only in the context of Grove City, PA, where I wasn't expecting much. Honestly, this food would be as good back home as it is anywhere. Perhaps not comparable to real Chinatowns, but still very good. The owner, Ken, is Chinese, and I suppose he likes to eat real Chinese himself, too. We ordered egg drop soup and hot sour soup. Individual bowls were $4 each (pricey imo). However, I ordered the large bowl for $7, which was enough for 4-5 servings. We ordered the large servings. Definitely worth it. Some of the items were not on the menu. Pepper and salt chicken wings (deep fried) EXCELLENT. Guan Tso (Cantonese) Lo Mein, has shrimp, chicken, beef. Homestyle, but tasty. Not the most appealing in the picture. Very Tasty. Scallion beef. EXCELLENT. Three Pepper Chicken. EXCELLENT. Steamed scallion whitefish. EXCELLENT. very tender and tasty. We even poured the sauce over plain rice at the end just to finish it up. Stir fried lettuce. It is what it is. My children who normally do not eat more than one bowl of rice had 2 or 3, and cleaned up the dishes (save the peppers). If you are in the area, I highly recommend it. The prices were VERY reasonable (we ordered 6 dishes and two soups. 4 adults, 2 teens, 2 pre-teens. $80 plus tax. Due to the party size, they added 18% gratuity. Would gladly have given more. What was nice, too, is that the dishes all had their individual flavors, not like some restaurants that use one sauce for numerous dishes. Fine print: You do have to ask for authentic Chinese if you want what I reviewed. However, even if you go for their standard fare, I suspect it will still be a very good Chinese food experience. I will definitely eat here every time I am in town.
I highly recommend the Pad Thai and especially the Mango/Avocado Salad...MMMMMmmmmmm. I am not as fond of their "Chinese" food, but the Thai food is the best I've had. I just had the same thing in a Shadyside, Pgh restaurant the other day. The restaurant was rated number one Thai - they have NOTHING on Bobo Rice Bowl.
Excellent Chinese food & sushi. Very nice waiter. Newly remodel dining room. Now they have Bubble/Boba tea, Dim sum and Thai cuisine. Closed Tuesday.
The freshest, tastiest food I've ever had, in a charming part of town. Highly recommend!
The food is dee-licious!
