Real redneck bar don't waste your time as it's Dillsburg at its best lolol note sarcasm keep driving so you get to Gettysburg stop to laugh at big fat Wally! That douchebag Wally needs to lose weight before he has a heart attack. Actually he needs to keep looking the way he does and charge a dime admittance to his freak show. If you head North keep going to Mechanicsburg and stop in @ Grandpa Growlers and have a real good time with real people and not pseudo political morons like Wally et all flapjacks peace out! In a nutshell food is horrible the service is not existent, and the the company is disturbing in a bad way 0 stars out of 5 JH Bowen M.A. Political Science/ Frostburg State University
Flapjacks isn't anything to speak of. The food is cheap so it won't bankrupt you, but you won't write home about it either. The service is a little shoddy. I probably wouldn't go back there except that I attend a monthly group meeting there. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's not so bad that you'll get sick.
The pub is a great place to grab a pint after work. Dan is the best bartender ever!!
Awesome plac3!
Having visited Dillsburg once per year on business, Flapjacks was usually a regular stop--not because of the quality, but because quite frankly, they are the only "happening place" in the small town. Until this year, TONIGHT, when I vowed never to go again. We went after dinner, and bieng understaffed and overcrowded makes getting your food or drink orders impossible. Cold appetizers and wrong type drinks and a crew of 6 meant my $200 bill added up quick. We left a $45 tip even though in my opinion, it should have been much, much less. We felt sorry for them as they always seem so understaffed. Staying at an adjoining hotel, my lighting tech and secretary went over for a night cap much later hoping it would be less crowded and they felt like getting a drink to finish off a late night of work. They each ordered a beer and a shot. They were served two beers and fifteen minutes later got the shots they ordered (one being wrong.). Total bill was $21. They tipped $2 on the counter, and ordered one more shot. They were thrown out immediately by a man, who said, "We work on tips and are refusing to serve you." My crew stormed out and came to me, knowing that I'm in the entertainment field. They came back telling me that they gave the tip that was "deserved" on the service they recieved. I immediately thought there must be some misundertstanding. I called to inquire and obtained a manager named "H***r" but we'll call "SALLY", who said that two guys just spent $45 and left $3 tip. (Odd, my crew was a guy and a girl, and only left a $2 tip, but SALLY just cited another example of someone leaving a crappy tip, hmmm wonder why?) I explained to her the situation and how I felt it awful they were refused to be served based on the fact they tipped on the service they received. She said, "We work on tips. We can legally refuse to serve anyone. I don't have time for this--" and hung up on me. I was left with a dial tone in my ear thinking about this, and it got me more and more upset. Not because of the cold food I ordered earlier, or every one of the nine years of crappy service I've received since I'd been there, but now they were taking out on my crew. I called again and then asked for the owner or name of the owner to write a restaurant review (and was immediately given a rather offensive man who claimed to be the owner but would not give me his name.) When I tried to explain how upset I was after spending all that money with them earlier in the evening and my continued patronage of this place, that my crew was refused service based on tips, and that they received crappy service so left a crappy tip (in my opinion they could have left NO TIP) --- I was immediately cut off by him and he said, "Do you know who I am? I could care less. I don't need your business. I can refuse anyone if they leave SH*IT*Y tips. Come on over and talk to me and grow some balls!" Then he hung up on me too. No, Mr. Owner, I'm not coming over there , in fact the best thing I can do for you is make sure everyone knows that you don't care about your customers. (Wonder where the other guys are that only left a $3 tip, what do they think of your service?) People of Dillsburg or visiting folks: Wise up and find another place in this town who cares about serving YOU THE CUSTOMER in a timely manner and with accuracy.
