Normandy Farm Hotel-Conference Center
Reviews
Normandy Farms is a great place for business or personal needs. The hotel staff is top-notch, making sure each and every guest is given the best service possible. Whether you need two nights or two weeks, they will make sure you're comfortable! The main building includes comfortable rooms and a beautiful bar and restaurant. There are activities throughout the week-play trivia or enjoy happy hour, having brunch, or enjoy a wine tasting. There are also outbuildings that are so beautifully furnished, it's easy to forget you're at a hotel. I've stayed in both-the main building is excellent for business stays, esp. if you're traveling alone, but for a romantic weekend, get a suite in one of the gate houses. Fire places, four-poster beds...perfect. The only downside-the restaurant doesn't have a huge menu, so if you're staying for an extended period of time, make friends with the desk staff--they'll order a pizza for you if you ask nicely!
Went to the "Jimmy Buffett Beer Barbeque" last night (8/14/14). Unfortunately, it rained on the party. I purchased VIP seats for four and they outposted us away from the party behind a huge white wall on the back lawn. There were umbrella'ed tables near the food and music (and shelter) that should have been for VIP tickets instead. Hey Normandy, when you sell VIP tickets at a higher price, how about thinking about how you can maximize the experience that I paid extra for! The regular price seating had a much better seating and eating experience than the VIPs. Finally, it was advertised as a "Jimmy Buffett" event in which a band would play hits from the star's repertoire. Well from 6:00 pm to 9:30pm, they played ONE Buffett tune. The rest of the music was general pop music from different eras but NO JIMMY BUFFETT. Really??? False advertisiing. I don't recommend this event at Normandy (which for four cost me $200 for VIP tickets) until Normandy gets this one right. And the food was just ok. The spicy coconut soup was awful. Scratch that for next time, please! The best game in town was the salad bar and the hamburger station. Chicken was severely overcooked and dry. Pork roast was being scantily distributed and not that great tasting. The pork ribs were acceptable. Corn and baked potatoes seemed like they were sitting out all day. Desserts were pretty good. Ok, as for the beer selection, they offered the Miller line, Shocktop, and Landshark. Could it be any more limited? Shocktop was the only one worth drinking. Better luck next time, Normandy Farms.
We had the special Christmas Eve dinner at the restaurant. The food was OK, but not worth the NY prices they charge. Service was below average. Disappointing.
Very beautiful and comfy hotel, but avoid the Sunday Brunch AT ALL COST!!! Not only is very expensive, but the people and staff in it are extremely rude with not a lot of courtesy towards guests - even when I stayed for a full 8 days. They're very disorganized, with several different servings for several different parties (weddings, guest, etc) and no one seems to know anything, who, what, where to sit etc. I literally was moved, with plate at hand, from a table of 2 to a table of 4 because the table of 2 was RESRVED...dunno about you folks but for me more space the better. DO NOT GO AND EAT THERE.
We were recently there for a wedding. The service was amazing from the minute we got there! Let allowed us to check in early because we needed to get our kids set up for naps. The food in all the restaurants was on point and fantastic. I don't think I ate something that I didn't enjoy. The pool area was nice and clean, fully stocked, which my children enjoyed immensely! Housekeeping was great as well... they respected our privacy and allowed us to take supplies as needed when we requested them. The wedding was fantastic.. The staff are exceptional at their jobs, and really allowed us to enjoy ourselves. They made the Bride and Groom very happy which makes us very happy!
