La Bamba Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
Reviews
It was a late November evening in 2014 and my buddy and I had just flown in from Hawai'i. We got picked up by our homeboy and he took us to this place. It wasn't particularly busy as it was probably near closing time. It was a little dark but still welcoming. The aroma of mexican-style food tantalized my senses and created a rumble in my stomach. I was all the hungry people. Our server was polite and helpful as expected. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! I could not tell how clean the store was because of the aforementioned darkness but the table and booth that we were in seemed clean. I'd definitely return.
My family and I chose to eat here on our way home from a trip. The overall experience was disappointing. The place was empty, but the server seemed rushed to get us out and seemed annoyed when we mentioned possibly changing tables from inside to outside because it was so hot in the restaurant; there was not central air in the main restaurant and it was extremely hot. She even told us to decide before she set our table up because she didn't want to have to take it all down and set it back up. It's not that hard to move forks wrapped up in a napkin. My son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that had a piece torn off, there was a blueish gray color around that spot, which I assume was mold. We needed to split our check up, which was messed up and one of our parties ended up paying more than they should have. When the server took over splitting the bill she spoke negatively about the other staff members.
Mediocre food and horrible service. I would rather have two day old Taco Bell microwaved than eat here again.
