Cliff notes: Unassuming exterior, excellent Mexican-American food, reasonable prices
The outside looks like just another rundown roadside diner (an impression worsened by nearby construction), but the inside was immaculate (despite dated fixtures).
The host & hostess struck me as a young immigrant family struggling to live the American dream. Barrel-chested dad made the occassional round and tended to the kitchen while mom zoomed about, alternating between checking on me, cleaning, & tending to the boisterous (but behaved) children.
I don't generally think of central Oregon as the place to go for Mexican food, but the salsa here is the best I've ever had. The burrito was excellent as well. Don't expect the standard tex-mex -- I'd guess this style is more Central American? Whatever it is, it is very, very good.
