SMOKE. on Cherry Street
Reviews
My wife and I on our weekly date night decided to try SMOKE. The food was excellent, we had the "Butcher's Block" with Salmon, Strip, and Rack of Lamb. All three were exceptional. Now that's the food the service was not good. In fact we almost didn't eat there at all it took several minutes for us to get greeted. We didn't see a server for several more minutes. The service was just bad. I basically tip the server for being nice not for being good at her job. Overall, I would come back. If the service improved it would be an outstanding restaurant.
If we had the kind of money to go here once a week, you would certainly find us to be regular patrons. However, for very special occasions, SMOKE provides the romantic/momentous/intimate atmosphere that pairs extremely well with their friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff and fantastic, always-fresh menu.
THE. BEST. STEAK. EVER! Butcher's block is a must. And the $5 burgers on Monday nights are awesome.
Smoke is not for lack of business, especially when it comes to weekend brunch, but it's not surprising considering the seasonality, locality, and culinary skill with which everything seems to be prepared. -----Though there was a lot of good-looking stuff on the brunch and lunch menus during my visit, I had to have the burger. Not necessarily the most adventurous, but there's something sublime to be found in a really good burger. This did not disappoint - a blend of ribeye, tenderloin, and brisket, there was a good bit of fat in there, seared excellently, and served with only the best accouterments. Even the thin-cut fries and homemade ketchup were difficult to stop eating. The folks at Smoke are clearly serious about their food, and I am a winner as a result.
Holy SMOKEs! Attention to every little detail at Smoke is very apparent. I had a burger and it was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I would go back just to get an order of the fries, they are crisp and deliciously seasoned with the perfect touch of spices. Don't get me started on how yummy the homemade ketchup was. Most everything you'll sink your teeth into in this restaurant is their own recipe.
