Definitely on the hip-hop side of the coin. Ladies dressed nice but the men are dressed hip-hopish. T-shirts, tennis shoe, cargo shorts, and ball caps.
This club was recommended because it offers themed events each night,so I went to the website and found an event called "Soul food Sunday's", which was supposed to be an open mic, spoken word, poetry type of event. It was not as the theme suggested. 1. The music was too loud for the small space 2. The cover charge was too high ($20!!!) 3. The bartenders were not customer oriented - Waited patiently at the end of the bar due to people sitting at the middle of the bar. The bartender looked in the direction where myself and a few others were waiting. We were trying not to stand behind the people who were already seated. One woman who was waiting asked the bartender if she could be served, and the bartender responded "yeah, if you come to where I'm standing". This is simply unheard of, for the many clubs that I've visited. The bar was not a very big bar, and for the price you pay to enter the club, you wouldn't expect there to be a problem such as this. Bottom line, after about 20 minutes of waiting, the taste for a drink had paste and I walked away from the bar with no drink. 4. The most important part of this review...within the 45 minute duration at this venue, there were no poets or musicians of any kind on the stage. (Huge disappointment) This is not a total slam on this place, but this particular themed event did not honor its title. -poetry and spoken word artist (should be present and performing) -intermission are usually 10 to 15 minutes -Music should be low and smooth -Dress code should be enforced (No sneakers and blue jeans) For a younger guy who loves loud music and club scenes, this place seems like the perfect spot, but for the more sophisticated older gentleman not so much. All in all the place was packed with beautiful women, and the hostess was polite when taking my money... The Truth by: (LDubbs)
