Applebee's
Reviews
Shorthand: Don't come here, this place is a disaster! Slow service, awkward handling, and below mediocre. In addition, a group of male workers were on break all seated next to the women's bathroom bringing discomfort to anyone passing by. We even had to request NAPKINS along with most tables. I have literally been scarred from Applebees and will definitely do my research before dining at any other foreign locations. Albeit, I've never had such a horrible restaurant experience (I go to restaurants 2-3x/month), some applause goes to the manager for trying to save us from being completely mortified from this experience, although with poor execution). Much like a crumpled paper can't be brought back to perfect condition, neither can my feelings and disgust for this specific location. Went here with my gf for the first time today and was looking forward to eating just a spinach and artichoke dip and cheeseburgers for our entrees. The wait for our drinks alone took 15 minutes to which we only received one at a time. Secondly, the app came 10 minutes later and was honestly the highlight of the night. Later on our waiter informs us that they are "all out of medium rare burgers" and suggests medium well, I agree although I was shocked by the fact that I just had a medium rare burger at another location last week. 15 minutes later we receive the burgers which prove to taste quite old and looked NOTHING like the pictures in the menu. The cheese was crusty and the fries seemingly came from a HS cafeteria. I asked for lettuce and tomato and jalapeños to be brought after I received my sad looking burger, which by the way I asked for jalapeños when I placed my order. The waiter responds by saying "YOU WANT THE WHOLE GARDEN? I SAID IT DOESNT COME WITH IT BEFORE." --he never said that when I placed my order. I try taking a bite of my burger which is completely tough and over cooked, and then try a bite from my girlfriends (which she ordered to be WELL DONE) and found hers was actually medium compared to mine. We wait 10 minutes for just a piece of lettuce, onions, and pickles (with jalapeños still nowhere to be found) at which point we are fed up by the lack of service for which we call over the manager. He promptly addresses the issue and returns asking what we'd like to alleviate their flaws. We simply ask for an appetizer and he returns with the bitter looking waiter who we have to debate with over what happened and any "confusion" on our part because dining should be a punishing experience, right? This proves to be the worst part of the night as we are placed in an awkward situation as if we're the boy's parents. We already addressed the issue and didn't require a whole meeting, keep in mind we're still quite hungry from waiting so long for our food. Afterwards the waiter asks us what we'd like and we request a quesadilla app to which he accepts without first showing some resentment for what had just happened (which we didn't want to happen in the first place). The manager himself brings us our plate at which point we decide enough is enough and we can't bear to sit down in such a lowly and unhospitable environment so we ask for our check and leave. I may be leaving out a few minor details but that's atmy own expense--but trust me, they're probably better off).
What an awful experience, went here to grab a quick bite and it all turned into a 2 hours fiasco!! Please spear yourself that bad experience and avoid this place at all cost. The restaurant was 1/4 full only tables around the bar were occupied we were seated nearby all occupied tables. It took exactly 37 minutes for a server to even come to our table after we asked the hostess who seem to care very little. The server came apologizing for the ridiculous wait she put us through and took our orders then came back 13 min later saying they had ran out if ingredients for one of our picks so we had to settle for something else, we only order water and soda as drink options were also limited because of lack of ingredients (no big deal we had been seated for almost an hour and just wanted something to drink and eat). Everyone was careless and rude unlike the atmosphere at other Apple bees in other areas and unlike the company standard and policies (years ago I went through the company's training before I decided to go with another job offer and I remember the week long training with corporate trainers was fantastic they foster an upbeat, friendly professional environment with world class customer service) non of that present here, the staff were like wide animals without direction. Our drinks came, which took another 7-10 minutes, that was record time as the appetizers took over 20 mins to come out just in time for the spectacle of the night!! A fight broke down at a group table across the bar from us (some dispute about the shared bill among the table's members mixed in with personal issues) these people were loud and cursed their breaths off we heard glass braking (dingy bar fight style) one guy took one of the ladies out held by the waist while she screamed and and kicked at the air (this was not the restaurant fault but no manager it staff ever approached the table to try to deescalate the issue while it was boiling and before it got out of control. #careless) We realized that there were more servers and cooks than the amount if people being served when all except the bartender went out to see the fight develop in the parking lot, as did some other guess including my husband and when our server who was also outside with the manager saw him she yelled at him "YO DID YOU PAY YOUR BILL?" to what he replied "my wife is at the table we are still waiting to get our entries, clearly I'm not making an exit just here looking at what you all find so entertaining" A couple minutes later he comes back to the table and soon comes the server and the manager to apologize for her rudeness outside. Because they all went outside including the cooks this delayed our entries another 20 mins to the point that we were no longer hungry we asked for it to go and asked for the check which the manager (with pants half way down his butt) brought himself and apologize for the wait and the servers nasty attitude.
I always try to be fair when reviewing, sometimes I even visit a few times prior to submitting a review. This restaurant only took one visit. My daughter and I decided to eat lunch here since we were shopping at nearby stores and found the locality perfect. The environment was not that bad, but maybe a few add-ons will make the restaurant more welcoming. Let me focus on the menu, which to my belief was not impressive. My daughter ordered a Strawberry & Avocado Salad. The lettuce was dry, the strawberries were sour, the chicken chunks were not that savory; and just a few old avocado pieces tossed somewhere in there!! I made the horrible mistake of ordering Blackened Tilapia, which tasted nothing like fish. This fish was served with a side order of fried red potatoes which were unflavorful and hard. My daughter decided to order a Pina Colada (virgin one, of course); and please take note, Pina Colada lovers, because their Pina Colada, is just an ice slush with a slight pineapple and coconut mix flavor. Applebee's, please don't call it a Pina Colada, and much less, price it as such! I ordered a Pepsi, just to be in the safe side. (if that's even possible at this place!) Many dishes may contain nuts or shellfish, I would strongly recommend that if you have food allergies inquire before ordering. The waitress was friendly, but she took forever to take our order and forever to bring the food to our table. I would only recommend this restaurant if you're absolutely wanting to waste your money!
Ok so been here several times with family and by myself each time is a hassle ordering food today the bartender none of the three even looked my way to as me what I would Like.....wtf......he was bizz trying to get the # of the blond....tgif here I come
Horrible staff. 3 years later the staff is still horrible, waiting times are inexplicably long even when the place is practically empty and finally the food looks like if it came out of their grandmother's microwave.
