Flatiron Restaurant

We liked the location, but the ambiance was austere and the steak overcooked.
absolutely superb, hand crafted food. favorites include their hand-chopped steak tartar and their clam chowder (with house-baked oyster crackers.) don't be misled by the blah decor and central location on red hook's main drag.
This is my favorite restaurant in all of Dutchess county NY. I am a local and eat here at least 1 to 2 times a month. I have never been dissapointed yet! The food is very fresh and always cooked to perfection! I love the owners and the wait staff. This is truly a neighborhood restaurant at it's best! The selections of beer are amazing and they have really good drinks and wine. I find this place so comfortable that when I choose to go out to eat by myself this is the place I choose. You must also try the desserts! GREAT!
My wife and I dined here just a few nights ago and had such a wonderful meal that we're going to put it into our rotation of weekly spots to dine! When we arrived, a few minutes before our reservation, the place was packed. Luckily we called ahead. We had a drink at the bar and soon were brought to our table. The service staff was very professional yet friendly and not "stuffy" at all. And when our appetizers arrived we knew it was going to be a great meal! Raw oysters, steak tartare, followed by a rare Ribeye steak and potatoes for me and scallops with basil spaetzel for her; the best scallops she said she's ever had. We're glad we found this place! Bravo
