A Taste of Europe
Reviews
We were not expecting to find something this quaint and delicious on our drive to Lake Placid. The host was even so kind as to call us back to let us know that if we showed up by 8:30 they would still serve us. Very glad we stopped to enjoy both the food and atmosphere, as there was live piano to accompany our meal.
We loved it.The food and the presentation was amazing and the owner and chef were delightful! Great soup and pierogies. My 10 year old daughter is picky and she ate eveything! the owner had wonderful stories about Dr. Ruth and Sean Lennon. Well worth going to!
Other then one other table that had already been served their food, my 3 other friends and I waited an hour to get our food. I ordered the filet cut that came out dry and overcooked. Thank god it was a tender steak because I don't think the butter knife would have been able to cut anything else. Overall it was not a good dining experience. I had high expectations for a 30 dollar steak. I have a feeling it was random though.
You wouldn't expect to find a top notch restaurant, serving exquisite European cuisine, tucked away in a quiet corner of Cobleskill NY, but here it is. Food is great, atmosphere unique and beautiful and the service phenomenal. A true gem.
A true gem of European cusine nestled in the heart of the Cobbleskill New York, the decor is simply elegant and inviting, the chef Jeanette and her husband Janis (owners) was incredibly warm and hospitable and made us feel like we were the only people in the place! Her recommendations were outstanding! The weinerschnitzle was out of this world! I would also recommend the "Farmers Feast" smoked pork chops and various brautens. If you're ANYWHERE in the area this is not to be missed!
