After vacationing in Maple Springs for ten years, we decided to walk over to Tom's last night -- our very first visit. Drove by it a thousand times, its appearance is "rustic" and very plain. The place was full, warm, family-like, welcoming, fun. The live music (Monday night) was really, really good. Tom's is "Cheers," where everybody knows your name! (Don't go for the decor! And who cares about the decor -- you're not there to eat it!)
The Trail Mix wings at Tom's are without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever had in my life. I've eaten wings in the north, south, east and west and Tom's remains the standard to which all other wings are compared. Not only are these wings big, but the combination of hot and sweet is unmatched. Fans of bright red "buffalo wings" will love the spicing, but these wings are not for the faint of pallet. I've never been in winter, but the amount of snowmobiling memorabilia is truly impressive, so I can only imagine how much fun the place is after a day on a snow machine or ice fishing!
