We've eaten at Evahs everytime we're in Ely. I dubbed it to be one of the best Italian places I've eaten at. Arrived in Ely 10/3/14 and of course decided on some good traveling food. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo (our fav) and a side of baked mac n cheese. Our salads came out and we noticed they were smaller with less extras. Our main courses came out and the food was completely different then the last time. I could not justify paying $16 a plate for what we received, the mac n cheese was $8 and came in a small dish and was overcooked. We only received one loaf of bread (I thought it was unlimited) and though the waitress was nice, getting her attention was difficult. I talked to one of the staff later that night asking if they were under new management or just changed the menu. She stated the menu was changed and not too many folks were happy about it. I love Evahs and I really hope they change the menu back because at this point, I wont return unless they go back.
The food, service, and ambiance was mediocre at best. The garlic bread was a dinner role. The baked pasta was edible, but not worth the high price. At least the lemonade was good.
food seemed OK, not great. Menu prices inaccurate and staff refused to give me the price on the menu. Brought out another one that did have the higher prices but was not the one from which I ordered. Wait staff seemed kind of of dumpy and clueless. No offer at all to give me the prices in the menu from which I ordered. No real concern about the inaccurate prices.. That was a clear case of fraud. Free buffet next day was good but I would not give them any money in the future. ambiance absent. Thought I was in an old Denny's.
Acceptable italian-ish food for a small town. The ambiance is absolutley horrible, but it's hard to expect more from a small town casino. The service is decent, with polite staff and the prices are average.
Great stop in Ely! Not like your typical small town chicken fried steak and mashed taters place. Nice menu selections although we had the specials they were serving that night, salmon and blackened chicken, both with pasta and very good! Full bar is nice and the homemade bread alone is worth the stop. Service was quick and friendly too. We'll be back again.
