Yesterday we took a brief road trip to Hatch, NM. We stumbled up the Valley Cafe and were tickled to find our favorite kind of place. A small, unsuspecting cafe with fabulous food. My husband ordered the hamburger and I must say it was one of the best I have ever tasted. It was how we remember hamburgers before there were burger-chains. I ordered the green-chili con queso and it was quite good. We also ordered the green-chile burrito, which was a filling of the queso. If ever you are driving Rt. 25 in New Mexico and see an exit sign for Hatch take the exit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Valley Cafe.
Incredible food. The restaurant doesn't look look like much when you walk in the door. STAY for the food! You won't be disappointed. The Green Chili Cheeseburger with Bacon is a must - have.
What more authentic could the place be? It's a real rustic New Mexican place to enjoy a hamburger with real chillies! Just in time as lunch opens until 3pm!!!
This a very quaint New Mexico cafe. I loved it. Very friendly. Good food. Good parking for RVs across the street.
