Katrinah's East Mountain Grill

If I could have rated it a ZERO i would have. We had already been a few times. The food was OK...lets face it not a lot around here to choose from. Asked for the works burger with the green chile on the side. I wanted to split it along with an appetizer with my child who wont eat it with green chile. THEY SAID NO. NO YOU CANT GET THE GREEN CHILE ON THE SIDE. WTF?! She said "No deletions and no substitutions" I said it wasn't a deletion, its on the side. "Nope - sorry". Wow just wow. I can spend my money anywhere, we live in Tijeras, so ABQ is def an option. CHILI HILLS RESTAURANT IS SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER.
Food is ok if you can get past the rude employees at the register and window, especially if you are trying to call in an order. Have had them multiple times set phone receiver next to register so you have pounding in your ear and today laughing that they weren't coming back to the phone. Gave 2 stars only because the food is ok. Breakfast burritos down the street at Phillips 66 are very good if you need something in the area.
Great food, service, and friendly staff. It is a short drive off of the highway, but well worth it...sure beats fast food! We had the portobello sandwich with fried green beans (both of which were fantastic) and the southwest plate with green chili (which was tasty as well). I would definitely recommend this to anyone passing through!
My favorite day at Katrinah's East Mountain Grill is when Salmon Quesadillas are on the Specials Board! All of their food is great, but those Salmon Quesadillas are incredibly good. The salmon is cooked just right, and the combination of guacamole and the rest of the ingredients make me salivate just writing about them. Worth a visit!
I come up from Albuquerque to Edgewood often. I always eat at Katrinah's. The food is good, ranging from healthy salads and vegetarian specials to made from scratch breakfast burritos and salads to chicken fried steak and ribeye dinners. The coffee bar and deserts are delicious. Its a small town local restaurant with better service and fresher food than most places in Albuquerque and the east mountains.
